Popular Vietnamese folk opera performer Kim Tu longer may have gambled too long at a recent post-performance foray.
Bizarre in the West, proceedings have been initiated against well-known Vietnamese Cai Luong (folk opera) singer Kim Tu Long, after the entertainer was found gambling by police in Tra On District in the Mekong Delta, Vinh Long Province as it may seem to us. Just simple ol' handmade cards and dice and what will be considered relatively low stakes here were sufficient to obtain the performer charged under Vietnam's strict anti-gambling policy for citizens.

Kim Tu Long is just a well-known and popular performer of Cai Luong, a theatrical as a type of contemporary people opera that will be hugely popular with the population in southern Vietnam, particularly in the Mekong Delta. According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Phan Van Minh, a deputy police chief in Vinh longer Province, the artist has now been charged with unlawful gambling, after he was found among 27 other individuals who were all playing cards for money for a barge anchored at the mouth of Tan Dinh Rivulet, following a performance in June.
